5 use cases of NFC Marketing Material

In our last blog, we lifted the lid on Near Field Communication (NFC) marketing material and outlined some of the innovative uses - from the immensely engaging to the helpfully practical - that the Contactless technology affords marketing campaigns. So this time we will take a closer look at five use cases that we have developed ourselves, and go into more detail about what exactly they bring to the marketing mix:

1. NFC Beer Mats

How often do we find ourselves enjoying a quiet drink, lost in our thoughts as we gaze into a glass or peer at a television set at the end of the bar? NFC beer mats mean that a pint at the pub can now be an engagement point for marketers, and mean that with the swipe of a drinker's smart phone, you could be receiving information on the latest products or services.

2. NFC Fridge Magnets

Fridge magnet: aside from looking cool and reminding us of past holidays, they are pretty useless aren't they? Not anymore, thanks to NFC. You can now encode them with information - from menus for food delivery establishments to tips on healthy eating - and be assured of their constant visibility, thanks to their presence of an important kitchen appliance.

3. NFC Keyrings

As far as visibility goes, it doesn't get much better than your keys, which are typically carried round by owners for most of the day. NFC Keyrings take advantage of keys as a marvellous point of marketing convenience. How about a branded keyring for a band that also offers several of their hit songs for immediate download?

4. NFC Business Cards

Our contactless business cards are fast becoming the preferred method for the business community to direct recipients to their important information with the minimum of fuss. Whether it is an instant direct to a website, product line or LinkedIn profile, business cards which are NFC-ready certainly offer more bang for your buck.

5. Custom Smart Posters

We have taken everything that is great about eye-catching display advertising and multiplied the effect with custom smart posters. These innovative marketing tools allow competition entry, a Facebook 'like' or an immediate direct to a website or product page. They can be coupled with the artwork of your choice to ensure that not only do your posters require a call to action which is immediately deliverable, they also perform the task of communicating effectively with your intended audience.

That's pushed Contactless technology to a more prominent position. But when we talk about Contactless, what do we mean? How does the technology work? And which uses does it have? That's what we will discuss in this blog.

What we discovered from ABI Research's study into the NFC Tags market

We'd like to applaud ABI Research for a fantastic study into the current uses of silicon-based Near Field Communication (NFC) Tags across different industries, and the future of the field. The name of the study - 'NFC Tags Ready for the Mainstream' - does a neat job of summarising the findings, but in this blog, we would like to delve a little deeper into the results of the research.
